GGG Birthday Guest No. 14: Yours Truly, 20

It's official! I am no longer a -teen... a little fact that my Mom reminded me of as she gave me a long, warm and fuzzy (she was in her bathrobe) hug yesterday morning. Let's rewind. The night leading up to my Birthday morning I witnessed a Prestige Worldwide 10pt-lead win and sat thru a cute little countdown in the stands. Ended up in the car with the Boyfriend and his brother at the actual stroke of midnight, and was really hoping to see any sign of the Leonid meteor shower on the drive home but the city lights were obviously overbearing. Got a couple of calls and texts from some good friends, then finally managed to fall asleep beside him. Perfect, so far.

Sometimes it's smart to step back and take a look at where your money goes. Personally, I'm guilty for never doing this, even with the technology to do so in the comfort of my own home or via miPhone on the go... then all of a sudden I'm buying a coffee and my card declines and it's embarassing and I say "It's payday tomorrow, OKAY?" and I run away with the latte without paying for it. No, I'm not actually that broke but I am beginning to be THAT addicted to coffee...

So let's see here, in the past couple of days: a boyfriend flannel, two pairs of Happy Socks, an early birthday present to myself from the bookstore, paid off my speeding ticket, pulled out the cash I owed my Dad for tuition, the madly addictive LineUp (the Boyfriend kindly gave me a loonie so I could buy the Pro version), and a handful of grande Caramel Brûlé lattes. Extra caramel toppings - which are free, thank God.

Hey, I guess that's not too bad... besides I'm working six shifts next week (top secret shit), so all that labor will eventually make up for it all, right? Enjoy the rest of your weekends everyone!

GGG On Holidays #1 (PT.2): Father's Day Dinner

Although most often reliable and handy when it comes to picking a place to eat when you and your friends just can't decide, the iPhone app Urban Spoon is NOT ALWAYS trustworthy in the suggestions it gives. I posted earlier yesterday night that we had reservations at this restaurant called La Viena; drove by the place which was tucked into this little corner off of Kensington and I know it's harsh to judge a book by its cover, but we ended up trashing our 7PM reservation and decided to look for something a little more... dare I say: presentable. Besides, the kids were treating Dad out to dinner and you can't blame us for wanting it to be a good one, no?

10 Things From Today #5: Spring Courses, Unorganized, and Drop-ins

1. Spring 2009? BSEN Block Week, and COMS Spring session. Bittersweet, to get these two out of the way. Prereqs are looking to be completed in time!
2. On the same note, the Registrar posted the Exam schedule yesterday; I have three in a row. =( Remind me to book work my life off.
3. Mmm... the Dreamsicle smoothie.
4. "We tend to think about the past or the future, be aware of where your mind is right now. The most important thing should be your breathing, nothing else." The perfect study break: Tuesday's with Mina.
5. I love when mommy or daddy gives me change for parking. $6 a day adds up, srsly.
6. Project Rebel is projected to be completed and attained very, very soon. So tempted to take ART 235 in the Summer even though it wouldn't count towards anything...
7. Lately I've been feeling all over the place, unorganized and last-minute; it's probably because of the lack of using my day planner/calendar on miPhone. B4d me, I am better than this.
8. As previously mentioned, yesterday was Danscott's stage rehearsal in preparation for the 2009 Competition season. This year is my first year not dancing at all, and I miss it so much. It's not as fun tagging along (although tagging along to the competition in Vancouver and Seattle mid-April will be), plus being in the audience rather than on stage is just not the same; time to start accepting the event invitations on FB to workshops and drop-ins.

I have a bad cold on top of which I have laryngitis, so I can't make it to my soci 201 lecture this morning.

I am sending this at 5:42AM mostly because I am jet lagged and too congested to sleep but also in the hope that (...)

When I first saw this at 7AM on miPhone this morning, I thought to myself why the hell is a student sending out one of those "Cansomeonesendmetheirnotes" emails RIGHT NOW?! But then I realized it was from J. Manzo, the professor of my course that I was just about to (give me 5 more minutes, mom) wake up for. YES, an extra hour of sleep. Thanks buddy, sorry you couldn't make it to your OWN CLASS but feel better for Thursday's lecture OK prof?

10 Things From Today #2: Nightmares, Friday The 13th and Black Toes

1. The no-electronics-in-class ban has started off strong; turned off miPhone during both lectures and took a combined total of 9 pages of notes. Srsly, it makes the biggest difference.
2. Had a horrible dream nightmare yesterday.
3. (Up/Down)graded from expensive international texting to free gmailing with the boyf; quality over quantity proves to prevail.
4. Looking forward to 2PM Friday <3>
5. The Dreamsicle smoothie from Kines/Scurf has become my new lunchtime meal
6. Currently studying the anatomy of the Eye, the history of France, and closing journal entries (for PSYC, FREN, and ACCT; respectively)
7. I'm simultaneously painting my toenails black; and I believe this multitasking is beneficial because the nail polish fumes are keeping me awake

10 Things From Today #1: Snow, School & Rihanna

1. I didn't even realize it was snowing today (my blinds were closed), until I read The FPOE while blowdrying my hair this morning. So much for my "nice weather" post yesterday.
2. I bought a Noodle Time bowl for lunch and when I went to fill it up with hot water, I walked to the coffee dispenser instead and didn't notice until I had already poured some coffee in. [insert those 3 letters here, you know which ones]
3. Gunna have to miss this week's class again, sorry Mina. See you next week though babe, promise! LOL
4. Current state of mind: Prioritizing
5. Came to school without the laptop, and have come to realize that I focus so much better without it (obvs). Along with miPhone, both are self-induced distractions that I need to get rid of, so from here on in I'm banning myself from bringing them to lectures. Wish me luck!
6. The boyf got his internet connection working =); 3 more days left.
   
7. 50's started at work this week; great, another temptation to spend money.
8. Is it weird that I emailed my PSYC professor a Youtube link to this video after learning about the Perception of Optical Illusions? The answer is yes, but I did it anyways.
9. I purchased the American Apparel black Nylon Tricot leggings; I have yet to find an outfit to make them work.
10. Still unable to wrap my head around the CB x Rihanna news.
