NYC 09: Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto

No need to post full coverage on this collection, but I just wanted to post these cute-ass kidlets rocking Y-3's first ever kids apparel. Loving the multicultural couples, btw haha.

NYC 09: Anna Sui

If this collection isn't taking you on an adventure to 19th century Paris, I don't know what will (other than a time machine or the ghost of Christmas past). The inspiration comes from what are called the grandes horizontales. Not knowing what they were, after a couple of Google searches and article readings I am amazed at how well she actually captured this lifestyle into her RTW collection. They were the femmes galantes and demimondaines of Paris: mistresses I guess, for lack of use of the parisian terms today. These women were on the fringes of respectable society because they were supported by wealthy lovers. Everyday wear for them? Velvet, soutache trim, floral prints, kickass headdresses and boots...

NYC 09: The Barbie Fashion Show

Mattel wanted Barbie to celebrate her 50th birthday with a bang; so what better way for this American icon of youth, fashion and beauty to celebrate it than having her very own runway show in the midst of New York Fashion week? Held just yesterday (Vday, perfect choice of date), 50 Barbie outfits by top designers graced the pink runway in tribute and did one hellova job in portraying everything we love about Barbie. And after the jump of my fave photos, I'll mention the ultimate piece featured in the show; in case you didn't notice them.

Even though she turned 50, Barbie is still entitled to accessorize. "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes." Well said, Christian. What made their debut yesterday on each of the models feet were the signature Barbie pumps in the renowned Pantone 219 Pink.

Designed and brought to lifesize by none other than the Louboutin himself. Lucky doooollll.
