GGG Birthday Guest No. 10: Daddy, 5X

It was my Dad's birthday a couple of days ago on October 21st, he turned 50 "something". The day before it he kept asking me questions about when I would be done school and how many more years I had left, etc... and it didn't occur to me right then why he wanted to know all those things so bad. He wants to retire soon. He works so hard every day for our family and I just can't wait to be done and make him proud... sorry, it's 1AM and I'm tired so thinking about all this was making me so damn emotional! Then I came across these high-speed action shots (haha) tonight and they made me laugh so hard and I can't help but smile now. He's sooo cute, hey? Love you Papabear! Where do you want the kids to take you to dinner on Sunday? :) I'll take suggestions if you guys have any!

PS: Mom comes home from Vegas this weekend... I feel like she's been gone forever.

She was offered a full-time job at PWC upon graduation, and I couldn't be happier for her!

"These Are Not Toys...

... these are works of art!"- NORMAN FAJARDO, avid toy art collector

The full set was available for purchase, if only I could've grabbed them all...
Instead my sister and I each picked one up, and I got an extra one for the boyf.

First Batch, Half A Dozen

"I'm gunna be your muse, aren't I." HAHAHA, duh.

Randomly saw NYLON Guy's in a gas station, picked the issue up for him. (Cause BF'S/GF's do that for eachother ♥ hehe)

Kinda blurry (OOPS!), but I spy my style staple AA lamé leggings, the boyf's guitar, a stuffed penguin I got him for our first Christmas, and a Graduation 2006 frame, sans pictures?...

Special edition Dunny, paired up with a turnable set via a Kinder Surprise (I know right?! Siiick)

Photobooths, Johnny Cupcakes tissue. Memories on a DIY corkboard that completely lines a wall of his room.

City barbwire. Errr, city skyline in a moving vehicle.

NYC 09: The Barbie Fashion Show

Mattel wanted Barbie to celebrate her 50th birthday with a bang; so what better way for this American icon of youth, fashion and beauty to celebrate it than having her very own runway show in the midst of New York Fashion week? Held just yesterday (Vday, perfect choice of date), 50 Barbie outfits by top designers graced the pink runway in tribute and did one hellova job in portraying everything we love about Barbie. And after the jump of my fave photos, I'll mention the ultimate piece featured in the show; in case you didn't notice them.

Even though she turned 50, Barbie is still entitled to accessorize. "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes." Well said, Christian. What made their debut yesterday on each of the models feet were the signature Barbie pumps in the renowned Pantone 219 Pink.

Designed and brought to lifesize by none other than the Louboutin himself. Lucky doooollll.

The Plasma Dunny

Sooo sick! Artist Dustin Cantrell has taken the Kidrobot Dunny toy and fused it together with the Tesla-inspired plasma globe, creating this badass custom toy. The plasma globe was invented by Nicola Tesla in 1894 and it uses a coil to excite the element inside an incandescent lamp. It's basically that dome you love to play with (no, not the static electricity one, but we all know how much you love to play with that one) at the Science Center, where when you touch it you ignite the electricity within and it creates a colorful visual. Anyways, it was such a neat discovery, but somehow more than a century later it's resorted to being sold at places like Spencer's =/... DC wanted to do something cooler with the plasma globe and thus the birth of the Plasma Dunny! So far, only 4 have been created, and ToyCyte is giving away 1 of them, and the other 3 (pictured above) will be up for the world to fight over. I want one!
