I promise I'm not dead. Just temporarily frozen.

My mom set up a belated brunch for me last Saturday morning at this place up the hill called Shanghai Palace. For some reason, the place was completely empty come our reservation for 11 (unfortunately, I had to work at 12:30) and being the annoying daughter that I am, I kept bugging my parents with unnecessary thank you's for "renting out the WHOLE restaurant for ME?!" I'm such a pain in the butt - one of the duties bestowed upon me as middle child. As you can see, I finally had my birthday cake and ate it too... DQ ice cream cake never gets old (no really, it lasts in the freezer for months, ha) and I do much rather prefer it old school than all that new school Ace of Cake Boss shit who's edibility is questionable. Overall, I enjoyed the company of mi familia, even if it was semi eat-and-run... much love and thanks guys, I promise this is the last you'll hear of and about my birthday.

Once again, the Bonadrag boutique never fails. I remember when I found the site way back when I first started blogging, this snake vertebrae necklace by Erica Weiner was my favorite among the many things that caught my eye in the Flair section:

It's official! I am no longer a -teen... a little fact that my Mom reminded me of as she gave me a long, warm and fuzzy (she was in her bathrobe) hug yesterday morning. Let's rewind. The night leading up to my Birthday morning I witnessed a Prestige Worldwide 10pt-lead win and sat thru a cute little countdown in the stands. Ended up in the car with the Boyfriend and his brother at the actual stroke of midnight, and was really hoping to see any sign of the Leonid meteor shower on the drive home but the city lights were obviously overbearing. Got a couple of calls and texts from some good friends, then finally managed to fall asleep beside him. Perfect, so far.

Got most of my birthday presents early this year (the real guy is this coming Tuesday) - the result of a semi-impatient girl and a Boyfriend who just gets too excited when it comes to gift giving. I love surprises, but sometimes waiting a couple extra days to get them is just torture yo. Which is why Christmas and the Anni are both already thought out... no surprises there (for us) but let me just say that I can't wait for the month of December to come. More on that later.
Speaking of boxing... YES PACQUIAO! I woke up this morning to see #cottosface trending on Twitter. LOL

Sometimes it's smart to step back and take a look at where your money goes. Personally, I'm guilty for never doing this, even with the technology to do so in the comfort of my own home or via miPhone on the go... then all of a sudden I'm buying a coffee and my card declines and it's embarassing and I say "It's payday tomorrow, OKAY?" and I run away with the latte without paying for it. No, I'm not actually that broke but I am beginning to be THAT addicted to coffee...
So let's see here, in the past couple of days: a boyfriend flannel, two pairs of Happy Socks, an early birthday present to myself from the bookstore, paid off my speeding ticket, pulled out the cash I owed my Dad for tuition, the madly addictive LineUp (the Boyfriend kindly gave me a loonie so I could buy the Pro version), and a handful of grande Caramel Brûlé lattes. Extra caramel toppings - which are free, thank God.
Hey, I guess that's not too bad... besides I'm working six shifts next week (top secret shit), so all that labor will eventually make up for it all, right? Enjoy the rest of your weekends everyone!

My Boyfriend^ turned 21 over the weekend! Now he's allowed to drink, smoke, gamble, and watch strippers legally anywhere and everywhere around the world. Hmmm.. let's go for pho and see who's down to watch a movie tonight? Sounds good, haha. I've been a fan of being a little low-key lately. But man, do I love just being here to hit Life's milestones with you.

Finally Tako can see! He got home and he decides to sleep right away... I wonder if dogs understand irony? Or do they have other things to worry about? Like being so frikken cute? PS: I need some bloglovin'!

What are you guys dressing up as? The last time I dressed up for Halloween was 4yrs ago in Grade 11, I was some kind of Joker (aka a bunch of old dance costumes that kind of went together and made something, haha). Anyways, since then for some reason I've lost all love for the Holiday and now it just frustrates me. Oh, don't worry, it'll reignite probably when I have my own little kiddies that I can dress up and gross out with pumpkin guts. Cute Halloween > Slutty Halloween. Have fun and be safe tonight everyone.

Raymond just bought it and it is the funnest and most adorable game ever. Lost track of how many times I said something along the lines of "Aw, look how cute he is right now" (their facial expressions, as shown after the jump, are sooo funny)... you know, things I wouldn't say about Master Chief or a gang of hordes, haha. To be honest I think we spent more time customizing our characters than actually playing. Considering we both dislike Halloween it's a nice substitute to live vicariously thru those little guys.
