GGG Birthday Guest No. 15: Kristia, 18

Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending Kristia's debut, held at the Greenwood Inn on Saturday night. For those of you who aren't familiar with this filipino rite of passage, it's basically just a huge celebration in your honor for friends and family to celebrate it with you. Girls, it's like your own little wedding (I recall hearing Shaylee's parents, whom we were seated at a table with, say: "Did she just change dresses AGAIN?", haha). As such, obviously this party requires just as much planning and preparation... months in advance to get the invitations, decorations, giveaways, and of course: the entertainment ready. Her cotillion (aka entourage) was what I was most looking forward to seeing, considering reading so much about the dances via Wednesday night tweets and especially since it consisted of some of my friends that I would consider family. They didn't disappoint (see more photos). All in all it was another successful debut. As for me? I opted out on having one and instead got Chuck as my present for coming of age. However, Kristia's dad mentioned in his speech a clever little con: as per the debutante's reply when faced with the choice of car vs. party, I too should've said "I'll get the debut now, and the car later!" A Handful of Birthday Stills

blow em' out, blow em' out!
11.21.09

My mom set up a belated brunch for me last Saturday morning at this place up the hill called Shanghai Palace. For some reason, the place was completely empty come our reservation for 11 (unfortunately, I had to work at 12:30) and being the annoying daughter that I am, I kept bugging my parents with unnecessary thank you's for "renting out the WHOLE restaurant for ME?!" I'm such a pain in the butt - one of the duties bestowed upon me as middle child. As you can see, I finally had my birthday cake and ate it too... DQ ice cream cake never gets old (no really, it lasts in the freezer for months, ha) and I do much rather prefer it old school than all that new school Ace of Cake Boss shit who's edibility is questionable. Overall, I enjoyed the company of mi familia, even if it was semi eat-and-run... much love and thanks guys, I promise this is the last you'll hear of and about my birthday.

GGG Birthday Guest No. 12: Raymond, 21

My Boyfriend^ turned 21 over the weekend! Now he's allowed to drink, smoke, gamble, and watch strippers legally anywhere and everywhere around the world. Hmmm.. let's go for pho and see who's down to watch a movie tonight? Sounds good, haha. I've been a fan of being a little low-key lately. But man, do I love just being here to hit Life's milestones with you.

I Love LittleBIGPlanet (Halloween Edition)

Meet my dope Sugarskull sackboygirl!

Me: "I can't study anymore, I'm done for the night."
Him: "Want me to turn on LittleBIGPlanet for you?"
...
I love you.

GGG Consumer No. 1: KO Flatte Nail Polish

Knock Out nail polish in "Calamine"

Finally got around to painting my nails a matte nude color over the weekend... doing your right hand is such a bitch. I seriously contemplated in frustration (after having re-done them like 3 times) to just bring the bottle down to my guilty-pleasure nail salon at the bottom of the hill and have them done for me, haha. Oh the always existent debate between spending time vs. spending money.

I Love LittleBIGPlanet

Raymond just bought it and it is the funnest and most adorable game ever. Lost track of how many times I said something along the lines of "Aw, look how cute he is right now" (their facial expressions, as shown after the jump, are sooo funny)... you know, things I wouldn't say about Master Chief or a gang of hordes, haha. To be honest I think we spent more time customizing our characters than actually playing. Considering we both dislike Halloween it's a nice substitute to live vicariously thru those little guys.

Itchy Bitchy Pretty Thing

I did a bullet list last week as an Update and I think I mentioned my other new love for huge, wooly sweaters. To me it's a decent trade-off. I am sooo annoying when I'm cold, and a little less when I'm itchy so deal. Here is one of my favesies right now that I'm referring to... not the best shots of the Wild thing but they'll do. Just use your imagination, Max.

GGG Birthday Guest No. 9: Madeline, 19

Last Saturday, Rachel had a Dress Only party at her place for the girls (and boys, who suited up very nicely) at work. It was a cute little party held as a surprise for one of our Floor Manager's Madeline. Complete with drinks, appies and literally the best cake ever (you'll see), it was nice to get away from the store for once and just chill with everyone outside of it. But like I said... love your job and you will never work a day in your life. :)

I'm Not Even 21 Yet

These were all brought into my possession because my Dad decided to give my sister and I a brownie to split at Crossiron Mills last weekend. I assure you this does not happen everyday and I am one of those people that feel much better justifying my purchases knowing that I earned the money used to buy them... but I caved in this time. It makes me feel a little better knowing that I got enough bang for my buck ($50, to be exact) doing so at FXXI. Anyways, I think he knew right away what he was getting himself into because that night when we came home he greeted us with a "So, what did you girls buy?", which in turn lead to a mini show&tell in the kitchen and a couple of kisses on his cheek before bedtime. That and the fact that he didn't ask for the change, haha:

ALfie

After seeing these stills posted on Carolina's blog, I knew I had to see the film... got the boyf to download it right away and we watched it late last night until almost 2 in the morning. Sienna's character "Nikki" intrigued me simply just by looking at these. I was so curious to get to know her because she looks like a handful... and of course in the actual film she did not disappoint. She killed it. Along with the really, really ridiculously good-looking Jude Law, obviously.
