I love it when Ray decides to take ownership of the Rebel every now and then, mainly because he's just automatically good at it... anyway, he went a little bit Sartorialist on us. A string of pearls, studded bag and floral shorts = love.

Unlikely Pair

Mackage leather jacket, Wilfred light-wash cropped denim jacket, AA seamless tank top in cream, black bandeau and nylon tricot leggings, H&M scarf.

  • I have been wearing this denim jacket all weekend. To work, to the bar, to school! After many unsuccessful attempts at trying to find the perfect one (UO, American Eagle, even the Gap), I was definitely excited to see this Wilfred one in at work. $75, not bad for a basic I know I'm going to wear hella.
  • Recently I've noticed the use of a denim jacket under other jackets. On the Runway (DSQUARED2), in photos via The Sartorialist, etc. So I thought I'd try it; it actually wasn't that bad although it was a little uncomfortable writing notes in class today. Movement is a little restricted haha.
  • Remember when I posted about how I had "yet to find an outfit" to wear with my AA leggings? Call it an epiphany or whatever, but all of a sudden I can't seem to NOT wear these. They almost go with everything now.
  • I need to trim my bangs!

Spring Forward

I love this, it's exactly how I feel; stuck in between Winter and Spring...

Je Suis Noir

So angry, should've bought those Frye boots at my work when I had the chance. Would've gotten them at a wicked price too, I'm sad. =(

The ingenious heel of LD Tuttle, seen here on my two favorites: the Spectre and the Creature, respectively. A chunky heel that I actually don't mind, they're actually 4" but you can't even tell. Former ballerina Tiffany Tuttle's shoes are made in Italy, and boasts a fanbase that includes, and I quote legitimately: Erin Wasson (!), Natalia Vodianova (!!), and Mary-Kate Olsen (!!!). And now me too, obviously.

The Jeffrey Campbell "No Tip" oxford. Something new to try... although these remind me of my tap shoes. Makes me wonder if I could DIY it because I have so many old pairs that are missing screws and who's taps are falling off anyways, haha.

I Spy, You Spy

Scott Schuman snapping a shot outside the Palais Bourse in Paris.

It's definitely a breath of fresh air seeing The Sartorialist himself (and in action!) being captured in a photo.

My Heart Won't Lego

Inspiration for post: FN's outfit that he wore to The GSM (General Staff/Sales Meeting).

Dee and Ricky, 21-year old twin brothers from Staten Island are the young designers behind the Pixelated Lego Heart Brooch. You may have seen it gracing the chest of Kanye West during the promotion of 808s and Heartbreaks, but otherwise this childhood-inspired creation had kick started another major highlight for the brothers: their work styled a Marc by Marc Jacobs runway show (Spring 2008). When asked on how this opportunity of a lifetime came about, this is what they had to say, word for word =/:

"Yeah, Dee and Ricky made that show really pop with those accessories, we killed em. They didn’t even see us coming. My Boy Matt Bananas threw this party in the Hamptons for Camp Beverly Hills, Dee and Ricky rolled there & we met this boy Jay Peezy (Jason Preston), dude be chilling with Marc Jacobs & such… Jason saw some belts we were rocking & he placed an order. We dropped them off to him the next day. He call us back later that night like, YO! Marc loves the belts! He wants Dee and Ricky to style the runway show at the Armory. We were like whoa! Also his show was like in the next 8 days so we had to work really fast & hard, We made a bunch of samples & a couple of special pieces for the models. Everything we brought in they loved. Marc was going nuts." - Taken from an interview with Fredflare.com
