GGG Collabo No. 1: Jimmy Choo x HM

{fashionbits&bobs}

Need this exact little sparkly number in my Life... really, this is all I want from this collaboration. It would be perfect for your staff Christmas party (Dec. 6th), your outfit to meet Gabe (Dec.12th), your 4yr anniversary date (Dec.18th), your New Years Eve par... shoot, somewhere in there I made it all about me, huh? Well, special occasions aside, lately in the mornings I've been looking into my closet, only to be staring at everything - completely uninspired. And unsparkly (hmph). I feel like it is a famine of beauty in there right now... A FAMINE OF BEAUTY, HONEY! Hmm... the wallet does seem to be "full-er" though, however. Are we making the appropriate causal connections here? Yay, go me.

"These Are Not Toys...

... these are works of art!"- NORMAN FAJARDO, avid toy art collector

The full set was available for purchase, if only I could've grabbed them all...
Instead my sister and I each picked one up, and I got an extra one for the boyf.

Matthew Williamson for H&M

I feel like I'm the very last one to blog about this collaboration, but it's not my fault Calgary always seems to be slightly delayed when it comes to keeping up with fashion. The Matthew Williamson for H&M collection hit the sales floor just today - and thankfully I was able to pop by just before work. I ended up being a couple minutes late actually, all because I wanted needed to get my hands on something; what made it worse was the fact that they couldn't hold anything from the collection so I was incredibly rushed. Hopefully once I get back from Van, I can actually take some time to try on some of the other pieces (if there are any left by then). Although I actually find myself quite confident that there will be, since shoppers here in Calgary compared to New York or any other of the openings are way more nonchalant, or dare I say clueless; dozens of girls walked by the collection not even knowing what was going on! Shame shame. But more for me. Also a little disappointed we didn't get a lot of the anticipated pieces seen in pictures that surfaced the internet prior to the actual release (like this Silk Mix Electric Blue Suit!), but otherwise quite satisfied with what I ended up getting:

Lykke Li x Rick Ross

{bleachblack}

"Don't you got any jobs? are you not like working hard?"
I've been really into Lykke Li lately, and this unlikely combination of her laid-back voice with the beat of "Everyday I'm Hustlin'" just made her that much cooler.

Drink and Dance

Justice x So Me x Coca-Cola

Special edition design in celebration of Club Coke.

I'm really feeling this collab; I'm always the one to put in the Justice CD at work, and if you know me, you know that I am a coke fiend. NOT THAT KIND! Anyways, these bottles are being sold in some night clubs around the world, and consequently the bottle glows in the dark. Can you imagine (me) ordering a coke at the club and doing the D.A.N.C.E holding up this bottle... it's So Me. GET IT?!

Special edition tee. Comes in one black color way (For The Boys only) and is limited to just 502 pieces being made worldwide (commemorating the fight against Britain’s Rickey Hatton taking place on 5/02). Official release date for these tribute tees is this Friday! So if your Filipino, or if you know what's up and is just a fan of the Pacman, then get them at Francoshade (FRSH) or 80's Purple has already started selling them just today as well.

All proceeds from sales will go towards the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, which was established with the goal to provide support and assistance to the underprivileged in the Philippines by offering aid with medical assistance, education for the youth, and food to those in need.

GGGB loves dope tees,

especially when they're for a dope cause!

Eastpak x Raf Simons Backpack

BACKPACK #2. Another backpack that I would like to wear to class. Although it may look like a futuristic jetpack, don't be fooled; I'm sure I would still probably be late.

Your Mom

Vintage Mom's old Lacoste dress shirt, Wilfred black high-waisted skirt,

Robyn Cameron for Aritzia cashmere scarf, Vintage Mom's tights.

  • Intentionally mismatched buttons; inspired by photos I saw from Trovata F/W09. (Photo 1 | Photo 2)
  • I love going through her closet -- regardless of being different sizes (that dress shirt is a size 8), I still manage to find things that I love, that somehow fit me. Or in this case, things that I can wear oversized.
  • Vintage Lacoste? Classic. Light blue? My fave. Big ass sleeves? Rolled them up.
  • The scarf I'm wearing is actually part of a limited edition artist series that Aritzia did a while back, a collab with Robyn Cameron. It featured her artwork on items such as t-shirts, tank tops, etc., but these scarves in particular never actually hit the sales floor; they were made exclusively for the staff and given to everyone as Christmas presents.
  • Size is nothing to the Universe.

Madonna x Christian Audigier For Ed Hardy

Uh oh... don't know how I feel about this collab. It's already tough on the eyes as it is (I'll admit I own one though), but can you imagine once Madonna, the Queen of Pop, has a take at it?

So far no concrete details have been released on the collection yet (still expect diamante embellished and tattoo printed t-shirts) but according to the Daily Mirror, she will be earning six figures from the deal.

Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals Lookbook

I'd wear the next one backwards, so that the zipper would look like my spine:

I almost wanted that leopard hoodie, but then I looked at it a little more and realized that there are little hindlegs (or arms) coming out at the bottom sides. Ew, way to ruin that... but the rest is still worth noticing: the flapper-fringed basketball jerseys; sequined sweats; the gold angel-winged hightops; the oversized leopard print/massive zipper tees; and oh, did you spot the fuse between a hoodie and tuxedo tailcoat for Men? Jeremy Scott's always been one to mix things up and still make it work. His collection is slated to drop (or has already dropped, I guess) February 1st!

The Nike Coraline

I'm no Sneaker Freak and I don't give I'm not a Nike Head, but I came across these on Johnny Cupcakes' blog and wanted to share the sick crossover that is Nike x Coraline. I don't know much about kicks but I appreciate creative limited editions when I see them. There were only 1000 made of these in the world, limited to 100 of those having the bigass button like JC's. The rest have animal heads and tails; a little eerie but very Tim Burton-esque. Unless they were given to you (100 influencers were chosen to receive them), you can only own these otherwise by winning them thru watching the film (it comes out Feb. 6th), staying until after the credits and then visiting the Coraline website.

Although not a big fan of the colors, they still work in combination with the chosen canvas fabric, nifty buttons and hand-sewn stitching to stay true to the films unique and handcrafted anime style.

They also have a glow-in-the-dark sole, spoOOoooky!
