Kanye who?

That's what designer Vivienne Westwood was wondering after the rapper introduced himself to her during London Fashion Week. Yeezy rushed over to Westwood after her runway show and gushed that he's a fan - but after he left, the British fashionista and avant-garde designer had to ask her pal who Kanye was, shrugging, "I think he's famous in America."

YOU THINK?! Aww, that hurts my heart a little bit though. Poor Ye; he will probably blog about it. (using CAPS, ..., and !!!)

Life Just Isn't Fair, I Can't Even Sing

Keep watching until the end.

Gunna go get ready for tonight; so what if the boyf got five stitches today (tell ya later),

we are predrankkking and cabbing it tonight. Uh oh... TGIF!

Burnout

The unique burnout material of Alternative Apparel (not to be mistaken for American Apparel) is a blend of cotton and polyester, and then they burn the cotton out. The result is a sheer, weathered fabric and quite possibly the softest shirts I own to date. They are in constant rotation and honestly I wouldn't mind owning every other style of top made in this fabric (like the Big League Baseball Tee, the Burnout Deep V-neck w/ a pocket, or the Burnout Tank).

GGG Down Memory Lane #7: The Finishing Touch

Candid photo of my mom ("Lyn, look over here"), having someone put on a pearl necklace for her before one of her pageants. Probably taken around 1987. Hope you're not getting tired of seeing photos of my mom. Out of all of the fashion photography and editorials I post, she will always be my number one inspiration. Have a good night!

NYC 09: Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto

No need to post full coverage on this collection, but I just wanted to post these cute-ass kidlets rocking Y-3's first ever kids apparel. Loving the multicultural couples, btw haha.

Fall Into Place

Center Stage

In tribute of Mary Saludares; a 20yr old ballerina from the Philippines who passed away last Friday after being struck by a car, following her performance at the Washington Ballet. I didn't know her, but I guess you could say because of common grounds this tugs at my heartstrings... looking at photos and videos I am truly saddened that the world has lost such a talented and inspiring young dancer and person. My prayers go out to the family, friends and anybody who had the opportunity to be on stage with this Beautiful Ballerina.

Adicolor To Your Life

The Women's Adidas Originals S/S 2009 Lookbook released and hit the net and street blogs a couple of months ago... but looking outside now with snow still on the ground, even putting this up late still feels like bad timing. Oh well! We've got some of these jackets in already at work, don't know if I'm down for expanding my track jacket collection anymore though. There are better things to spend my money on, plus Project Rebel needs me to eliminate all unncessary spending. Anyways, enjoy the splash of Adicolor's to start off your day, it is a "lookbook" after all.

GGG Down Memory Lane #6: Blow Out Your Candles

Haven't done one of these in a while... Photos of my sister Camille being the Birthday Girl throughout the years. When it's your birthday, doesn't everything seem so carefree and magical?

LONDON 09: Twenty8Twelve

The Miller sisters (Savannah and Sienna) debuted their collection this week in London and I have to say that I did not see this coming from them! I love the clothes. Contrary to some of my other runway posts, this is a collection that I would actually and could actually wear; the pieces are practical (yay, Runway2Realway) and equally all would be definite style staples. Truly what RTW is all about. Introducing: Twenty8Twelve.
Love the texture in the tights, probably the perfect long blazer; slouchy beanies; the 3rd look altogether is just an amazing combination between badass/comfy/formal; and the classic one-shoulder black dress.

Grunge meets Glam: the padded-shoulder T-shirt (OK Balmain), spray-on stretch jeans; opaque w/ sheer mesh cutouts dress and bodysuit (OK Alexander Wang); and the ultimate investment, the leather jacket. Looks that I may not be able to pull off here, but still love.

I've always been into the Pretty Tough look. Top two ^

10 Things From Today #4: Project Rebel, Lent and Opus

  1. I'm beginning to think that once a week is not enough; I wake up easier, pay attention better and all around feel AWESOME on Wednesdays because of it. I want this day-after feeling errrday.
  2. Can check off my previously mentioned Top 1 Must-See already; watched MILK last night with the boyf and we both agree that Sean definitely deserved that award.
  3. Im starting to go thru TV series withdrawal; they are so mean making me go 3 weeks without new episodes of GG or HIMYM. Also looking forward to BB starting again soon.
  4. I have about 50% put aside for Project Rebel. I want it and can afford it now but this is something I really need to budget for. Give me 1 more month.
  5. Snow go away, I want to wear my new Wilfred pants.
  6. Lent begins today, I'm giving up blogging.
  7. Spring 2009 semester enrollment is underway; currently in a Business Law course as a Block Week session... f me how do you fit a whole semester into five 8hr school days? I'm scared.
  8. Tavi from Style Rookie finally solved my lifelong need to determine what Zac Efron looks like. Thank you, 12yr old genius.
  9. Opus Friday for JJ's Bday. Should be interesting, so much hype for this place from my friends who go there every single weekend and have so much drama to tell me about the day after...
  10. SYKE! (#6) I'm actually going 40 days without pop and iced tea.

MILK

After all of the buzz this film has gotten and most importantly Sean Penn recently winning Best Actor for his lead role in it, Milk is at the top of my Must-See list. The Wrestler, Revolutionary Road and HSM3 (one of these is not like the other(hint: horrible acting and predictable plot(but still so cute))) follow loosely behind on the list too. On another note: if you have yet to see Slumdog Millionaire, I suggest you make that ur life's number one priority. There is a reason why it's won/been nominated for so many awards.

SUBJECT: SOCI 201: Hi Guys

I have a bad cold on top of which I have laryngitis, so I can't make it to my soci 201 lecture this morning.

I am sending this at 5:42AM mostly because I am jet lagged and too congested to sleep but also in the hope that

When I first saw this at 7AM on miPhone this morning, I thought to myself why the hell is a student sending out one of those "Cansomeonesendmetheirnotes" emails RIGHT NOW?! But then I realized it was from J. Manzo, the professor of my course that I was just about to (give me 5 more minutes, mom) wake up for. YES, an extra hour of sleep. Thanks buddy, sorry you couldn't make it to your OWN CLASS but feel better for Thursday's lecture OK prof?

Rose Is Pink In French

I apologize for the recent lack of text in my posts... inspiration has been in visual form lately. I know exactly why, but we'll get to that another day. All these photos I saved via Lolitas and when looking at them in my folder I needed to put them together.

PS. Do you like the new look of GGGB? I'm probably going to change it tomorrow.

Seems Like Street Lights

GGGB Weekend Wrap-up #2: STFU

As per usual, the weekend flew by and inevitably Sunday has arrived. Like I said I wasn't looking forward to this weekend because already it's over and tomorrow is Back To School. And not the BTS that's almost a little secretly exciting because you get to buy new school supplies (so fun) or a new fall wardrobe (that ur parents pay for); this is the BTS that follows just one short break that's notoriously otherwise known as Suicide Prevention week, meant for students to catch up in their courses and chill out for a bit before they literally STFU (stress the f out). Poor me, I didn't catch up and am stressing the f out because I didn't study once during these past 7 days... but Reading Week 09 nonetheless was much needed and well spent non-academically.

FRIDAY:

Prestige Worldwide had it's 3rd practice this week! This time during the day which was a nice change, not to mention we had the whole Hamptons rink to ourselves so it was sick. I gave in to no longer just being benched during practices, so JA and I actually went to go buy our own sets of skates so we could join in on the ice. (Boys sz 3.5, $79.99!) Had an after-practice late lunch at Bobby Chao's, chilled and slept at the boyf's; cue Saturday.

SATURDAY:

Worked from 2PM until 9PM, drove down to the dirty south to JA's house to celebrate the news on getting an interview, ate Mcdonald's, drank Tequila, played drinking games, watched Zack and Miri Make A Porno; cue Sunday.

SUNDAY:

Slept in until about 10AM, late lunch date at The Olive Garden with the boyf, caught up with an old buddy on shift at the Home Depot, gawked at the CRXSi at Best Buy, watched The 81st annual Oscars Awards ceremony; unfortunately cue Monday...

The Bossini Aquavolo

I'm posting this because in the last couple of days the showerhead in my bathroom has gone insanepsycho and I wish I could replace it with the Aquavolo. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the pressure of the water got super high and I should be hopping in it right now to get ready but I really don't want to because it hurts. If I had the Aquavolo it would be calming like the rainfall or soothing like a waterfall. Instead it's more like a hailstorm. This is a pretty useless post but a very serious matter nonetheless. It's like when you're staying in a hotel and the showerhead just isn't the same as the one at home; it throws off your my day.

How Could You Be So Heartless

F21 bubble top, Wilfred black tanktop, braided belt from UO,

Mackage leather, SFAM Roxannes, Jewelry both from the boyf.

  • Seriously probably the 2 most overworn pieces in my possesion are my Mackage and those Roxannes. Hopefully you can see them in this photo but the details in the jacket are to die for.

  • I've been wanting to wear this F21 shirt for the longest time but it is so awkwardly bubbled that I had postponed wearing it for months after I got back from LA. Finally I belted it and was happy with how it turned out so this is what I wore to work for my Saturday shift.

  • I never take off my T&CO necklace or my ring from Raymond; minimal silver jewelry at it's best.

Again

ITS SNOWING, please stop. Going out tonight with JJ and KH, have yet to actually figure out what we're doing but at least now I have a reason to get out of my PJs and shower today.

Meet Baby AK

By far my favorite shot ever of Kale so I had to Poladroid it. Last time I saw her was at her 1st Bday/Christening and I'm sad that I've missed a big chunk of her growing up already, but that's my fault. Visit soon sis! Introducing: My beautiful goddaughter Kaleanna.

I'm a new soul

I came to this strange world

Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take

But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear

Finding myself making every possible mistake

See I'm a young soul in this very strange world

Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake

But why all this hate? Try to communicate

Finding trust and love is not always easy to make

This is a happy end

Cause you don't understand

Everything you have done

Why's everything so wrong right

This is a happy end

Come and give me your hand

I'll take you far away
