GGGB Celebrates 21's @ M1 #8: Girls Girls Girls

<3

The Marquis & Camus Collections

GGGB's top picks from the Modern Rebel collection ($225-$385 US).

M&C. Established Fall 2006, despite only being a couple years old, Marquis & Camus has already made a name for themselves in the jewelry industry. Their modern and edgy pieces are loved by many, having been spotted on everyone from celebrities to the familiar fashion forward femmes of NYC. The best part about them? Each piece is truly one of a kind; antiquated treasures of the past (which are carefully handpicked from estate sales, auctions and flea markets) are used and combined with more modern materials like leather, sterling silver, ETC. "Modern Rebel"? So me. Check out their other collections too, though (linked @ bottom).

"From head to toe, we match you know...

From the dimples to your smile

From your heart, all the way to mine

We fit, we match, we go,

I think you ought to know...

You make me feel, like everything is going right. "

Simplicityshirt

PLAIN WHITE T. As much as I may post about high-end fashion and the world of unnecessary wants in life, I'm not going to pretend like I have that kind of money (right now, anyway) to live in the luxury of actually owning everything I post about. Hence the label "Wishlist" that usually accompanies those kinds of posts. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that if I had my way I would wear shirts like these everyday with a pair of black JBrand's, my leather jacket and some Converse chucks; and if needed, switch to a pair of heels and to be honest I'd be able to live in those outfits Day n' Nite... that's more like me (right now, anyway).

GGG Down Memory Lane #11: Crimped Hair and Florals

My mom and my sister on New Years Eve in the Philippines, circa 1988.

NYE in the Philippines is way more dope there than here. Stroke of midnight and not only are you surrounded by generations of family, but the streets are filled with colorful fireworks, lighting up the sky so beautifully that you almost forget about the lifestyle differences between what I call home and what my parents called home. I need to go back there again; wish my mom could take me with her today.

GGGB 4sks #5: What Category Are You In?

"We all need somebody to look at us. We can be divided into four categories according to the kind of look we wish to live under.

The first category longs for the look of an infinite number of Anonymous eyes; in other words, for the look of the public.

The second category is made up of people who have a vital need to be looked at by many Known eyes. They are the tireless hosts of cocktail parties and dinners.

Then there is the third category, the category of people who need to be constantly before the eyes of the person they love. Their situation is as dangerous as that of people in the second category. One day the eyes of their beloved will close, and they'll have no one else to live before.

And finally there is the fourth category, the rarest and hardest one to live by. This is the category of people who live in the imaginary eyes of those who are not present."

Bangarang

Gotta give you guys something, didn't wanna leave my loyal ones hanging. =)
  • Last night was dope, agree?
  • So many pictures to post, check back often for sporadic onesies once again.
  • Guess my own I.D doesn't work for myself, great. Can I just sign my hand and you can compare signatures? Sure. THANK YOU SIR!
  • Stupid flower man, you and your overpriced roses should get outta here. Oh right, you got kicked out.
  • On the same note, love how you're always there to fight for/with us, thanks sis.
  • FULL LENGTH! TAKE THE PICTURE FULL LENGTH!
  • I'm happy for you two, if what you told us last night was true... kekeke double dates for sure.
  • Hey, you're beautiful. What's your name? HAHAHA
  • I am sick at playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors" at the bar. Legitimately won my way out of taking two shots because of my madd skills!
  • Total Scheduled Hours: (6.5). Total Shifts: (1). It's because of that stupid R word.
  • You should buy Mandy a shot, she just got fired. =/ HAHAHA oh stop
  • Project Rebel Update: I'm sorry I keep on saying that I'm going to finally get it, but then I think about it and realize how much of a distraction it would be -- especially before Finals. Gotta prioritize, consider it my reward at the end of semester if all goes well.
  • Dad gets back from Vegas and Mom leaves for the Philippines; yeah, don't worry about us kids here.
  • Regardless if this song is "old and from 2 weeks ago", I still love it (check the new GGGB bg beats).
  • Good job watching the Floor today JK and ML, young grasshoppers. You guys will be great, I'm here for you. =) Remember, I went thru the exact same process.
  • Likewise, thank you for the talk RN, it's nice to know that you believe in me (and the boyf) so much.
  • Congratulations on the new crib, guys! Settling for pictures of the place from Kamii until I can see the real deal someday soon.
  • Shibuya twice in one week? I'm turning japanese, I think I'm turning japanese I really think so.
  • I love twittering. Especially via miPhone.
  • Can I BBM him just to say Hi? Please? And the addiction begins. I think I secretly (well not so secretly anymore) want a crackberry...
  • 2:14AM, 2:15AM, 2:17AM, 2:18AM, 2:22AM = Missed Calls from Jyesjones, only to call her back and find out that she saw a bunch of cop cars outside of M1 and was just calling to see if I was okay. Love you <3
  • Tomorrow, I'm finally going to crack the spine of my PSYC and SOCI textbooks. B4d me, you should be using those more.

GGG Down Memory Lane #10: Family Style

Photos of my parents on a day trip to Lake Louise.

Seems like style staples haven't changed: brown leather bomber, polos, straight-legged denim.

She probably got cold and Dad being the gentleman that he is, I'm sure gave her his coat to wear. Typical young love. <3 Tapered denim, a polo too, finished off with an unpredictable red t-strap sandal.

Slurpeee

Kid Robot LA tee, AA hoodie in charcoal, Mackage leather jacket, Current/Elliott boyfriend jeans, H&M bag.

Two Words

On the computer, minding my own business while Chloe's watching TV. Noticed she got up to go somewhere out of my sight; figured she was just getting a toy in her room or something. Continued doing my own thing.

Couple minutes later...

"I'm dooone!"

It came from the bathroom, and right away I knew what I had to do. FML.

GGGB 4sks #4: Can You Tell The Difference?

One of these is the Alexander Wang Alexis fringe boot, and the other is the F21 knockoff.

Answer: The photo on the right is the real one.

$755 vs. $35?

Seastuff

I forgot to tell you guys, but the other night the boyf and I went for sushi with Ezap and Shaylee; it's nice meeting up with good friends, having good talks and all the while eating good food, especially in the midst of a school week on a Tuesday night. =) Anyways, all this time I've been living my life thinking that because I was allergic to all seafood, then I must be allergic to seaweed, too. Based on that misconception, I just never attempted to try it. Turns out I've been living a lie, because yesterday for the first time ever, I had sushi.

Introducing: The Cowboy Roll @ Shibuya. Filled with Alberta beef and avocado.

No seafood. SO EXCITING!

Your Mom

Vintage Mom's old Lacoste dress shirt, Wilfred black high-waisted skirt,

Robyn Cameron for Aritzia cashmere scarf, Vintage Mom's tights.

  • Intentionally mismatched buttons; inspired by photos I saw from Trovata F/W09. (Photo 1 | Photo 2)
  • I love going through her closet -- regardless of being different sizes (that dress shirt is a size 8), I still manage to find things that I love, that somehow fit me. Or in this case, things that I can wear oversized.
  • Vintage Lacoste? Classic. Light blue? My fave. Big ass sleeves? Rolled them up.
  • The scarf I'm wearing is actually part of a limited edition artist series that Aritzia did a while back, a collab with Robyn Cameron. It featured her artwork on items such as t-shirts, tank tops, etc., but these scarves in particular never actually hit the sales floor; they were made exclusively for the staff and given to everyone as Christmas presents.
  • Size is nothing to the Universe.
